On May 26, 2017 Indigo Airlines conducted a campus recruitment drive for the appointment of ground staff at Salesian College, Siliguri Campus. Forty seven candidates appeared for the interview; thirty from Salesian College, Siliguri Campus, five from Salesian College, Sonada Campus and twelve from North Bengal St. Xavier’s College, Rajgang. Mr. Sachin Ramesh Bawkar from the HR department of Indigo Airlines started the interview process at 12:30 pm in the conference hall. The interview process ended at 6 pm. Eighteen candidates were shortlisted on the first day of the selection process.
The second round of interview was held on May 31, 2017 at Salesian College, Siliguri Campus. The airport manager of Indigo Airlines from Bagdogra airport, Mr. Joydeep Sarkar, conducted the interview process beginning at 11:30 am, in the conference hall. The second round of interview ended at 1:30 pm with nine candidates being selected for the final round to be held on June 1, 2017.
On June 1, 2017, the final round of the selection process began at 11:45 am through skype from the Mumbai office of Indigo Airlines, in the conference hall. The process ended at 1:30 pm. The final list of candidates was informed to the placement cell at 4 pm, the same day. Ms. Shraddha Chhetri, Ms. Tshewang Lama and Ms. Moumita Guha were selected from Salesian College, Siliguri Campus. Mr. Rana Roy, Mr. Satyam Pradhan and Ms. Tanushree Karmakar were selected from North Bengal St. Xavier’s College, Rajganj.
The three days went very smoothly with the interviewers appreciating the college campus and the way the entire programme was conducted. The selected candidates were informed by email from Indigo Airlines on June 2, 2017. The programme was coordinated by the Placement Cell of Salesian College, Siliguri Campus.
